SubKnot

Privacy policy

Last updated October 29, 2026

SubKnot helps you keep track of your subscriptions. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep, why, and what we never keep. SubKnot is made by Florz Technologies Inc. (“we”), a Canadian company. Questions: corporate@florztechnologies.com.

What we keep

Linked banks and cards (Premium)

If you choose to link a bank or credit card, you sign in on the secure screen of Plaid, our bank-connection provider. SubKnot never sees your bank username or password, and the connection is read-only: nothing can move money. We receive your charges (date, description, merchant, amount and category) and keep the last 13 months of them to find subscriptions, bills and price changes. Money coming in, such as pay, isn’t kept. You can unlink a bank at any time in the app; its charges are deleted right away. Banks are also unlinked automatically if you delete your account or your Premium ends.

Family (Premium)

If you start a family, you can invite up to 5 people by the email address they use for SubKnot. We keep that email so the invite can wait for them in the app; SubKnot doesn’t email them. People in your family see your name (or the first part of your email address) and only the subscriptions and bills you choose to share: their name, price, billing date and who pays. You can stop sharing any of them or leave the family at any time, and the person who started it can remove people or end it.

Bank and card statements

If you upload a statement, the file is stored privately, read once to list the charges on it, and then deleted, normally within a minute and never later than 24 hours. The reading is done by Anthropic’s Claude AI service on our behalf. In the iPhone app we keep only the repeat charges we found, and only the ones you choose to add stay in your account; unused scan results are deleted after 7 days.

When you upload statements on the SubKnot website for your money dashboard, we also keep each purchase on them (date, store, amount and a category) so the dashboard can show where your money went. The statement file itself is still deleted right after reading. You can change a purchase’s category or mark it as business or personal (we keep those choices, and the stores you mark as always business), and delete all uploaded purchases at any time from the website’s menu.

On the website’s money dashboard, cash withdrawals on your statements or linked banks are shown as “Cash”. Purchases you type in yourself (for example cash purchases) are kept the same way as uploaded ones, and you can remove each one.

Income

If you type in your monthly income on the website, we keep that one number to show what’s left each month. Only you see it, and you can change or remove it at any time.

Habits, goals and the savings coach (Premium)

Habit spotting works out repeat purchases from the purchases above; we keep only your answers to “just you, or shared?” and the stores you hide. If you set a savings goal, we keep its name, amount, date and the amounts you record toward it. When you ask the savings coach for a route to a goal, a summary of your goal and of possible savings (store names, categories and amounts, never your statements, card details or email) is sent to Anthropic’s Claude AI service to choose and word the steps; we keep the route it returns with the goal. The coach gives suggestions, not professional financial advice. The Sunday check-in notification uses the same data and can be turned off in the app’s Settings.

Finding cancel details

When you add a company SubKnot doesn’t know, we look up that company’s own public help pages to find how to cancel. Only the company’s name is used for this search, never anything about you. What we find is shared with other SubKnot users who add the same company.

What we never keep

Who helps us run SubKnot

We use a few trusted providers, only for the job described:

We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.

Your choices

Children

SubKnot is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly keep information about them.

Where your data is kept

Our providers may store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We protect it with encryption in transit and access controls.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
